Stephen trained at Mountview Theatre School. Whilst training he appeared in numerous productions including Blood Brothers; Twelfth Night; West Side Story; Guys & Dolls; Sweet Charity; My Fair Lady & Anything Goes.
Stephen's professional debut was in the London Production of Les Miserables (Palace Theatre) where he understudied and played Enjolras. Following that, he played the title role in the UK Tour of Martin Guerre (West Yorkshire Playhouse/Cameron Mackintosh) and recreated the role on the 1999 Cast Recording (First Night Records). He has appeared as a soloist in a variety of Concerts including Showtime At The Stadium (BBC Wales); Sondheim Tonight (Barbican); Salute to the Stars (Royal Albert Hall) and West End Winners (Festival Hall). Stephen has toured in Europe with Gregorian - Masters of Chant, and also as a backing vocalist for Michael Crawford's 2000 Tour.
He appeared in a production of Ken Hill's Phantom of the Opera (Theatre Royal, Lincoln) playing Raoul; in Kuala Lumpur with Stars Of The Musicals (West End International); at the Broadway Music Theatre, Tokyo as a soloist in Encore!, in the workshop production of Jerry Springer: The Opera (BAC) and Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Woman In White at the Sydmonton Festival.
Recently Stephen played the role of Laurie in Little Women (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane) and has been seen in concert across the UK with the WestEnders, and also playing the role of Harry & Young Ebenezer in Scrooge opposite Shane Richie. Having joined the original London production of The Producers at the Thetare Royal, Drury Lane, he most recently played Roger DeBris on the The Producers UK Tour.
Stephen has worked as backing vocalist and session singer with Capital Voices for performers including Martine McCutcheon (on Television and on her Album Musicality); Michael Ball; Elaine Paige; Gareth Gates; Will Young. Other recording work includes Stars Of The Musicals (JAY Records); Sondheim Tonight (Barbican); title role on Merrick (Pirate Productions); Peter Abelard in Abelard & Heloise (Shakespeare et al);Copacabana (Danish Cast recording); various Film soundtracks and demo work for Elton John and Warner Chappell Music.
